This is the second vintage for this new label under the Willamette Valley Vineyards umbrella, and last year's single Pinot Noir is now split into a pair. The Florine is a 2000 planting at the highest elevation, and shows impressive depth and detail. Brambly blackberry fruit is highlighted with peppery spice, and the wine's finish brings still darker streaks of chocolate and coffee grounds. Good already, this should continue to improve over the next half decade. Paul Gregutt
