Sourced from ungrafted Pommard vines (hence self-rooted) that are over 30 years old, this expressive wine brings scents and flavors of beetroot, earth and fungus around tart, tight cranberry fruit. Tannins are hard and the finish stiff; every indication is that this will improve with more bottle age. Paul Gregutt
