Emma M. Louise 2018 Vieilles Vignes Red (Ventoux)

Savory notes of crushed earth, char and fur contrast sun-kissed but pristine blackberry in this juicy blend of 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache. Aged 12 months in French oak, it's a rich, deeply penetrating red anchored by firm, fine tannins and a pleasantly smoky finish. Appealing now but should improve through 2028. Anna Lee C. Iijima
