Big and clumsy upon opening, as nutty, earthy aromas dominate the fruit. Airing reveals lively black cherry and snappy plum flavors, but also a distant taste of sugar beet. Brightly acidic and almost tangy; it's obviously a good wine but it has a short zestiness that brings it down a notch.
