Eola Hills 2000 Syrah (Oregon)

With aromas of char, toast and charcoal there's too much toasted oak for the fruit on this wine. There are some cassis flavors but they're covered by more char and burnt toast. There is nice acidity on the finish. Give this one time to settle, and hope there's still some fruit. —C.S. Roger Voss
