Estampa 2009 Lacruz Red (Colchagua Valley)

This blend of Carmenère, Cabernet and Syrah sucks you in via spice, herb and black-fruit aromas. The palate feels smooth, rich and saturated, while minty, savory oak notes frame barbecued and black-fruit flavors. Now there's more oak than anything on the finish, but good acidity and balance suggest that things will settle with more time in bottle. Drink from 2014–2017. Michael Schachner
