Failla 2017 Chehalem Mountain Vineyard Pinot Noir (Chehalem Mountains)

This starts off tannic and earthy, unsurprising given that it's 100% whole cluster fermented. Brambly flavors of wild berries and Bing cherry spread out across a broad midpalate, adding a seam of root beer as it winds down through the finish. Just 15% new French oak was employed. Paul Gregutt
