Failla 2018 Chehalem Mountain Vineyard Grüner Veltliner (Chehalem Mountains)

You'll find much more body weight here than in most European versions of the grape, and the bright gold color suggests that the wine spent some time in oak, though not necessarily new oak. Apple, peach and grapefruit flavors have been smoothed and polished, and there's a lingering hints of toasted hazelnuts. It's almost Chardonnay-like, yet retains its own unique style. Paul Gregutt
