Like the country in which it's made, the Fairvalley Cabernet is a combination of refined and rustic, spicy and subdued. There's an earthy, indigenous element here, with its wave of plucky smoke and spice and beefy tannins, but the wine also has poise and a clean mineral touch. A distinctive wine at a very nice price.
