Familia Schroeder 2008 Saurus Select Pinot Noir (Patagonia)

Opens with warm, baked black fruit aromas and then a wave of woodiness takes control. The palate is round, full and sticky, with beefy but generic black fruit flavors and too much oak. Finishes with vanilla and resin; not a bad wine but needs more balance and fruit. Michael Schachner
