Farella-Park 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley)

At four-plus years, it's still quite dark, and that impression of immaturity is confirmed by the earthy, oaky, plummy, curranty aromas. Tannins are fine and velvety. But underneath is a solid core of ripe, fancy fruit wrapped in finely charred oak. Should develop nicely over the next decade.
