The 1006 refers to the year of the founding of Austria—not the vintage. This dark wine is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot. There are aromas of vanilla and ripe black fruits. On the palate, there is polished new wood and sweet tannins along with toast and spice. The whole effect is modern, rich and smooth.
