There's an inkling of floral character on the nose of this otherwise robust, brooding and brawny vineyard-designate. It's overwhelmed by grippy tannins and a bitterness akin to tobacco. Along the way dark cherry and forest earth make an appearance—particularly pine and a whiff of tar.
