Fess Parker 2000 Syrah (Santa Barbara County)

Has the characteristic peppery aromas and flavors, and lush, soft tannins with supportive acids, that have long marked this wine. But it seems thin in fruit. A wave of plummy blackberry washes over the tongue and then instantly disappears. Oak is not an adequate replacement.
