This opens with compelling aromas evoking pipe tobacco, Asian spice, blue flower, leather, menthol and baked plum. It's firmly structured, offering dried black cherry, blackberry, licorice, nutmeg and crushed aromatic herb. Fine-grained, velvety tannins give it grip as well as elegance. Drink 2022–2037.
