Few Anguish & Regret

Classified as a malört—a particularly bitter spirit often consumed as a dare—this one is amped to deliberately vicious levels thanks to an infusion of housemade ras el hanout, a Moroccan spice blend. It has a light yellow hue and minty aroma, with a boozy core that reminds of grappa. The flavor is quite spicy, with a jalapeño note that overwhelms the subtler herbal, floral and icy mint notes on the palate, and frankly numbs the tongue and lips. Kara Newman
