Fiddlehead 1998 Pinot Noir (Willamette Valley)

Combines Pinot's silky, sensual quality with forthright flavors that bring to mind cherries, blackberries, tobacco and peppery, earthy spices, with a slight scour of acidity. It's a big, full-bodied wine, but with easy tannins. —S.H.
