In this vintage the aromatic profile has swung noticeably away from the American oak that has in part defined this wine in previous vintages. In its place are woodspice, coffee, raspberries, licorice and light gamy notes, presumably from the Syrah blended in (7%). It's richly flavorful with a pleasing texture and a good sense of balance throughout.
