Despite some lacquer-like aromas and a raw, grabby palate-feel, this wine has a few virtues. The fruit is largely ripe and forward, and all in all it isn't timid. Pie cherry and blackberry flavors come prior to a finish that's firm and weighty. Awkward but decent.
