92pointsFirestone 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon (Santa Ynez Valley)

Editors' Choice

This is a very savory and quite compelling Cabernet, starting with aromas of black pepper, tar, dried olive and yet also a bright fresh boysenberry kick. The palate is framed by lavish, silky tannins that envelop flavors of cassis, black cherry and baking spice, with continued layers of Sichuan peppercorn and plum arising into the finish.
