A blend of Sangiovese, Sagrantino, Merlot and Montepulciano, this opens with earthy, rustic aromas of tilled soil, game, prune and a whiff of barnyard that carry over to the palate, along with cracked black pepper. The fruit richness is dried up, leaving brisk acidity and fleeting tannins.
