Fonterutoli 2001 Poggio Alle Badiola Sangiovese (Toscana)

A bit woody and spicy, but our guess is that most folks will like that. It's 80% Sangiovese and the rest is Cabernet and Merlot. The palate provides a good dose of plum, cherry and raspberry, while the finish is snappy and acid-driven. Fairly pure, with less oak in the mouth than on the nose. Michael Schachner
