This vintage of Highbury Fields is currently dense and tightly wound, with plump dark berry, cola, ground pepper and other earthy, savory spices, and a dusty, mineral undertow. The palate is powerful with silky, juicy blackberry fruit wound in chiseled, chalk-dust tannins. A terra firma austerity adds mystery. It needs a of a plate of protein now, but could happily remain in bottle for another five to eight years. Christina Pickard
