92pointsForis 2016 Tempranillo (Rogue Valley)

Editors' Choice

Just a few barrels were made of this exceptional wine, done in a sleek and silky style that overturns the impression that Southern Oregon Tempranillos must be big and bloody and tannic. It's packed with pretty blue and blackberry fruit, dappled with baking spices from aging 18 months in mostly once-used barrels. The blend includes 9% Malbec, and the finishing flavors roll into coffee and mocha around lightly grainy tannins. Paul Gregutt
