Fort Ross Winery 2017 Pinotage (Fort Ross-Seaview)

This is a rare find in California, and tastes like what it is: a cross between Pinot Noir and Syrah (or Hermitage), showing the cherries and tanginess of the former and the black-pepper and meaty notes of the latter. Substitute this well-balanced and medium-bodied wine for a Cotes du RhĂ´ne. Jim Gordon
