There's a coolness and a dusty austerity to this Central Victorian Shiraz. The crunchy fruit peaks through a curtain of ground black pepper, savory spice, black olive brine and a root vegetable note like roasted beets. As the wine warms, the fruit takes more of the spotlight. The mouthfeel is of dusty, textural tannins and lifted acidity. Those peppery, herbal nuances linger on the finish. Harmonious and well priced. Drink now. Christina Pickard
