This bottling from a vineyard on the extreme west end of the appellation is dense and dark on the nose with concentrated black cherries, sandalwood, sweet anise, allspice and strong garrigue notes. Tart cranberries and crushed oregano, thyme and marjoram herbs show on the sip, which is brightened with zesty acidity. It leaves a menthol-like sensation in the mouth on the finish. Matt Kettmann
