Though there's lots of creamy oak on the nose, the aromas aren't as cloying as they would be in a California Chard. People used to California Chards wouldn't know what to make of the palate flavors, either: Reserved, steely mineral notes overlay banana, citrus and a tiny bit of oak. Soft and minerally in the mouth, it closes with more stony-gravelly notes. (Their webite says that the grapes are grown in stony soil.)
