Freedom Run 2017 Estate Appassimento Meritage (Niagara Escarpment)

Made using a grape-drying production method akin to Amarone, this red offers a sharp nose of graphite, menthol and peppercorn. Medium in weight, the palate shows juicy dark cherry and tart currant, with a lot of acidic lift. The tannins are coating and a bit thick in feel, while spice and a bit of heat arise on the finish.
