A thick layer of sweetly spiced oak overlays this wine, along with what feels like some volatile acidity. Behind this, there's a floral note and rather tired-feeling plum fruit. In the mouth, acidity is shrill, tannins pinch, and oak dominates. The fruit, however, is plumper and a touch fresher than the nose, and there's a bit of a varietal herbal edge toward the finish.
