2020 was a stellar vintage for most of New York state. From the Niagara Escarpment, this Pinot offers brambly red berry fruit with earthy tones like mushrooms and undergrowth. There's vanilla and oodles of ground pepper and other spices and herbs. For such a cool climate, this shows power and ripeness on the palate that are able to hold the oak. There's raspy, spicy tannins and textural weight. Balanced and vibrant. Christina Pickard
