This is a grape no one really knows how to deal with, and the learning curve is steep. With the warm '04 vintage, the winery has achieved enormous ripeness. Cherries, cassis and milk chocolate star, but don't look for the balance of a South African Pinotage. This softly tannic wine retains the stubborn rusticity of the Sierra Foothills.
