Gali 2016 Tempranillo (Santa Cruz Mountains)

Strongly mineral aromas of wet rocks, lanolin and bloody meats converge with crumple herbes de Province on the earthy nose of this intriguing bottling. The palate combines dark-cherry and berry flavors with cracked pepper, sprinkled herbs and wood spice, with that rocky element lingering in the background. Matt Kettmann
