Aromas of the wood and anise lead to flavors of raspberry, strawberry, cured meat, smoke and eucalyptus. The tart cherry finish has notes of flint and smoke. Slightly grippy tannins and smoky flavors may be a little strong on their own, but this wine will work well alongside fatty cuts of meat.
