Gallo of Sonoma 1999 Barrel Aged Sangiovese (Alexander Valley)

Reminiscent of a Hugh Grant summer movie: thoroughly enjoyable, a light-hearted romp, just plain fun. Lots of plump berry-cherry fruit, soft tannins and acids, clean as a whistle and dry. As versatile as a red wine gets, it will go with almost anything.
