From a vineyard site in what is known as the reasonably cool Santa Rosa Plain, this is a spicy, oaky and richly concentrated wine. Pomegranate, bay leaf and cardamom flavors are focused, grounded by abundant notes of tart cranberry and strawberry. The mouthfeel is silky, while an herbal underbelly and lingering clove flavor persists through the finish. Virginie Boone
