Gemtree 2003 Uncut Shiraz (McLaren Vale)

Gemtree's "regular" Shiraz bottling is just as good as its flagship, the Obsidian, though the latter is probably going to last longer in your cellar. This bottling has light fireplace-smoke aromas, and good intensity of fruit on the palate. Plum and black cherry flavors are the focus until black, smoky flavors pop up again midpalate. Medium-sized; appropriate with food.
