Genoa 2015 Flying Colors Tuscan-style Red (Columbia Valley (WA))

Sangiovese makes up just under half this wine, with the balance Syrah (32%), Cabernet Sauvignon (19%) and a pinch of Merlot. Aromas of tar, leather, vanilla, earth, cranberry and baking spice are followed by a palate packed full of burly, almost rustic tannins. There are good things going on but the tannins are a bit difficult to get around at present. Sean P. Sullivan
