96pointsGeodesy 2016 Sage Ridge Vineyard Red (Napa Valley)

Editors' Choice

From a high-elevation slope in the eastern wilds of the Napa Valley near Pritchard Hill, this divine red is a blend of 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot, 6% Malbec and 1% Petit Verdot. Aged 20 months in French oak, it offers structured purple fruit, sage and a lasting taste of crushed rock, all sitting on a grippy, full-bodied texture. All of the wine's proceeds go to support young women in agriculture. Virginie Boone
