Cola and cherry notes show in this medium-weight, brightly acidic wine. The high-strung Gamay fruit shows a tautness that demands food, which it should cut well with (and through)—unless you really like puckered cheeks and lips. Has length and some back-end tannins to lose. This should come into better balance through 2003, but will always be racy.
