Gérard Bertrand 2016 Château La Sauvageonne La Villa Rosé (Coteaux du Languedoc)

This biodynamic rosé is made from 65% Grenache, 25% Mourvèdre, 7% Vermentino and 3% Viognier, and aged six months in oak. It's currently toasty and woody upfront, with background notes of grilled apple, peach and orange peel in the bouquet. The palate is round and smooth, but with ample acidic lift and fruit flavors to counter the robust oak and woodspice elements. Hold until 2019–2021. Lauren Buzzeo
