Gerhard Pittnauer 2016 Dorflagen St. Laurent (Burgenland)

A hint of smoke surrounds pristine notions of crushed blackberry and tart black cherry. The slender palate also emphasizes the very freshness and animating tartness of the fruit. The palate remains slender, juicy and vivid. It is purity rather than oak or power that sets the tone here, in a most disarming, charming fashion that feeds off brightness and freshness.
