Gernot and Heike Heinrich 2016 Blaufränkisch (Leithaberg)

Funky reduction still clouds the nose and only allows occasional glimpses of tart, fresh red cherry. It is on the palate that concentration and utter freshness become apparent, as well as a firm, snappy structure. This strays on the side of freshness and relies on fruit rather than oak for structure but is all the more refreshing for it. Freshness, depth of flavor and honesty shine alongside that lovely cherry fruit. Anne Krebiehl MW
