Gernot and Heike Heinrich 2017 Chardonnay (Leithaberg)

Funky redution has taken this wine's nose over completely. There is yeast, smoke and flint but in an intensely earthy yet fresh manner. The taut, slender palate, however, flirts with ripe Mirabelle while bright, zesty lemon provides a wonderfully fresh core. The body itself is slender, with wonderful depth. Anne Krebiehl MW
