Gernot and Heike Heinrich 2017 Gabarinza Red (Burgenland)

Notions of smoke, Damson, blueberry, cinnamon and plum all come together on the aromatic, evolving nose. Both sleekness and freshness strike immediately on the palate. There is a juiciness among that dark-fruited density that shows the sinuous structure of the wine. This is bold but poised, with resolving, very fine tannins. The finish holds a wonderful echo of pepperiness. Anne Krebiehl MW
