Geyer 2018 Bunch Shiraz (Barossa Valley)

Although this wine has plenty of appealing plump blueberry, mocha, violet and savory spice, quite a bit of volatile acidity overshadows it. Particularly obtrusive on the palate, the VA gives sharpness to the wine, an almost fizzy feel. It still has juicy, silky fruit and a supportive tug of tannins, some Barossa muscle flexed and little to no oak influence, but there's also some unpleasant mousiness on the finish.
