Gianni Gagliardo 2003 Serre (Barolo)

It begins easily, a fat rich nose with plenty of complexity that shows fig, black pepper (an unusual characteristic for a wine made from the Nebbiolo grape)soy sauce and bacon. On the palate it shows the same exuberance; big boned enjoyable but almost everything on the front of the palate. Solid finish and an interesting earthy note in the aftertaste. Perhaps a wine to age, but probably at its best now. Imported by Enotec Imports.
