Giesen 2014 The Brothers Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough)

This butterscotch-hued sticky is downright hedonistic. The highly perfumed nose explodes from the glass in rays of sun-drenched orchard fruit, candied pineapples and orange slices, pressed yellow flowers, ginger and honey. The palate is like liquid gold, unctuous and very sweet, with just enough acidity to buoy the intensely concentrated fruit. The marmalade finish is endlessly long. Indulge with a blue cheese at hand.
