Giesen's lees and barrel aged “The Brothers” is back and, likely thanks to the fantastic 2019 vintage, is better than it's been in several years. It opens with a delicate perfume of honeydew melon, green-apple slices, black-currant leaf and honeysuckle. There's a slight burn of sulfur on the palate but overall it's fruit driven and textural, lifted by a lovely crunch of acidity and a welcome layer of complexity amidst the refreshment.
