Girard 2002 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley)

Cellar Selection

You can tell this is a young wine by the aroma, which is dominated by oak and a tease of cherry. The fruit is shut down. But in the mouth, there is a rich core of blackberries and cherries, and the tannin-acid balance is near perfect. This fine Cabernet is in need of cellaring. Hold until 2010 and try again.
